Its early diagnosis requires the use of colour ultrasound examination of the scrotum, where the diameter of the veins is measured and venous reflux is confirmed. All aspects of sperm quality are affected by varicocele. The examination that tests sperm quality is called a spermiogram. Varicocele is treated surgically.
Female sub-fertility is diagnosed and treated surgically at the Gynaecology Department of the hospital using laparoscopic or hysteroscopic techniques or open surgery.
